It was a sign of weakness & has not changed anything. Nobody was killed. 3 civilians were injured. Everyone was warned of the targets hours beforehand.

WWIII will get closer when Trump scraps the Iran nuclear deal in May.

All the US congress has to do is remove those special rights given to the president during the Bush junior years. Obama supposedly asked congress to limit or remove those powers. Didn't happen because 'the president needs all the tools necessary to protect the US' or whatever the bullshit line was.

So all that needs to happen is for the US people to vote people into congress that reflect their ideals.

So yeah... World War 3 by the end of this year?

Unfortunately, the authorization they're putting forward will expand the president's authority to involve us in war," the Kentucky Republican told Hemmer. "Currently we're involved in six or seven countries actively and another 10 or 20 sorts of intermittently. This new authorization will authorize all of those wars and then some."

If memory serves, the emperors of Rome weren't that at first. Their powers were limited including their capability of raising armies. Then those limits were slowly eroded and eventually what was essentially just a management job became Emperorhood in all its glory and madness.

It seems history is bound to repeat itself on the part of the US. Here's to hoping it doesn't lead to a global dark age.

I don't think a new dark age is possible considering the tech we have today. The world is so much smaller thanks to the communication & transport we use now.

China has been #1 for much of the past 5,000 years & Asia is likely the next technological center IMO.

The top 5 supercomputers right now with their speeds (TFlop/s) & countries:

#1   - 93,014 - China

#2   - 33,862 - China

#3   - 25,326 - Switzerland

#4   - 19,135 - Japan

#5   - 17,590 - USA

#6   - 17,173 - USA

#7   - 14,137 - USA

#8   - 14,014 - USA

#9   - 13,554 - Japan

#10 - 10,510 - Japan

USA is building one called Summit, expected to retake the #1 spot, running at 150-200 TFlop/s but China is also working on one they say will outperform Summit.

Well... long story short, a ww3 with enough emp pulses and the few libraries in the world might not be enough to do much with.

However, the likelier story is one with a 'limited' nuclear war as the current empire topples and whatever new world order rises from the ashes then deals with the *cough* fallout. Excuse the pun.

Those are some fast 'puters. I wonder how fast those supposed 'secret' ai research computers are that some nations are building from gpu' and what they're doing with them.
