There are a number of ancient texts that state the pyramids were not used as tombs.
For example, first century BC historian, Diodorus Siculus, writes:
“The kings designed these pyramids for their sepulchres, yet it happened that their remains were not here deposited.”
"Describing the Great Pyramids and the hatred their builders supposedly attracted to themselves, Diodorus follows the tradition of Herodotus; he adds, however, that their bodies were never buried in them, but rather that the rulers commanded that their bodies be placed in a secure place that was kept secret." (C. Zivie-Coche 2002 (1997): 102)

you got Pyramid Texts and Funerary texts
essencially spells inscribbed into pyramid to protect/reanimate the corpse and send it to heaven. the coin along with inscriptions inside the pyramid have how your suppose to preseve the body to ensure it can ascend.
you also have other pyramids to keep in mind and what they were built for. specifically the nubian pyramids. 255 of them so far and most of the had mummified bodies.
most likely they did have bodies in them but after countless pilfering, moved them out
