Great example of the "I'm in government, so I'm above the law" attitude that many people in every level of government office have.
Assemblywoman Maria Rodriguez-Gregg, R-Burlington, was rear-ended in a crash at the traffic light on Route 73 and Fellowship Road earlier this year. What started as a routine investigation of a crash scene after an N.J. assemblywoman was rear-ended quickly escalated and ended with her being arrested after shouting expletives at officers as they searched her vehicle.

At 17:30 she should have ended it by faking suddenly becoming dizzy and just dropping. That looked like harrassment to me. Marijuana laws are a vehicle for all kinds of sketchy shit. What does glossy eyes mean? I don't hear the slurred speech, except at the end but maybe that was nerves. I drove after having smoked cannabis within a few hours for 20 years, and was pulled over half a dozen times for speeding and was in two accidents that weren't my fault. I was never told that I had glossy eyes. Did she turn out to be stoned and/or drunk?

The right to remain silent. You always have it, you should always use it.
Never consent to a search. NEVER!!! If a cop claims to smell pot then they can tell that to the judge after they find nothing and you sue them for unlawful search and seizure.
In this instance her fuck up was trying to hold court on the side of the highway. Don't argue with police, just keep your mouth shut and do what they say.
Instead of bitching on the phone with her attorney she could have used her phone to document what was happening.

I feel sorry for her husband.
This was like a douche-off... the rookie cops saying they smelt marijuana & she was acting intoxicated is horseshit but kinda justified because she initially swore at them & started power tripping & then wouldn't calm down & stfu.

"On September 14, Rodriguez-Gregg's attorney, Edward Kologi, revealed that a blood test came back positive for the presence of alcohol. Kologi would not comment on the levels, but claimed Rodriguez-Gregg's test results were "borderline in terms of evaluating a DWI case". Kologi further stated that there was no marijuana in her system. Kologi indicated that he would file a motion to suppress the results of Rodriguez-Gregg's blood/alcohol test."

See? She wasn't stoned at all and that was their "in" for ruining an already bad night. That's it, I'm calling it. The cop in the reflective vest saw an opportunity to stick it to a "stuck up rich bitch" and took his shot. I do NOT approve.

Follow up information, taken completely from Wikipedia so feel free to double check their sources. Apparently the marijuana smell was bullshit but she did have "borderline levels" of alcohol in her bloodstream. A few months later (around November of 2017) she chose not to pursue re-election and yes she was a Republican and yes she's pretty hot:

yes she was a Republican and yes she's pretty hot
She a Republican in fucking New Jersey, which means she's basically a moderate Democrat.

Appaently the imperial legislators do not enjoy being subjected to the draconian laws that they pass against all the impoverished plebeians.
