Changed my vote from 4 to 5 stars after viewing this video to the poignant end. Great post TBS.

Now imagine if they extend this program to the mentally ill.
Then imagine if the government gets to decide who is mentally ill.

Let's hold up a second cause every indication right now is that some mental case got a job as a phone operator on a veteran's assist line (like the old days when a nurse might deliberately switch babies. Rare but it happens). This might be an isolated player and I really hate to say this, I really do, given that no recording of the discussion exists, the story blowing up in the news could hypothetically derail any investigation that was underway to build a case (eg. tapping the operator in question's calls). The suspect now need only not do it again and simply deny the allegation to skip away scot-free. So..incredible suck, all round.

It's very predictable policy. This will not be isolated to VA. This will expand.
If this was a crazy person, as the D.I. stated, there would have been decisive action immediately to remove that person from their position at minimum while an investigation is carried out.
If this was unintended NOTHING would derail actions to stop it immediately.
They even have an acronym for th program. MAID. This is policy.

Right but maybe I wasn't clear. It's possible they were trying to collect evidence since there wasn't any to substantiate the allegation. In any case the VA will have to come clean with everything they know including timelines of action (or inaction) now that this is blown wide open. Really curious as to how this plays out. Post an update if you find one. Thanks.

This is of course completely unacceptable (also refer VAC statements regarding this issue) and should never have happened.
HOWEVER: As it stands at the moment there is NO EVIDENCE "Canada" or the VAC are offering assisted suicide as part of some sort of conspiracy against something or someone.

Abominable. Watch the news report here:
