i only lift one end of the car if i'm going underneath, and i put 2 jack stands on the lift points, then wedge another 2 under the frame rails until they're snug.

Jizz...a thick layer of fresh virgin jizz, the sperm in the jizz reacts by aggresively eating the old oil thereby cleaning the filter but it has to be extra fresh and you will need at least 13 Berg loads or at least 2 bannik loads...

Same way you normally would, the filter sits above the sump in all cars I know. Still not recommended as oil actually wears.

not in a saab 900, the filter is right in front of the engine at the same level as the sump.

Which model / year? Probably the hole/tube where the oil is returned to the sump is still above oil level, just try it next time you change the oil.

i need to do the oil on my rodeo this week but i probably won't try it. doing the oil in one of these is trial enough with out attempting anything like this.

The Saab 900 engine, Oil filter looks to be right behind the alternator towards the right of the pic.

Also in a Saab 9000 engine the filter sits way above the sump (lower third of the pi, slightly off centre to left):
