not much. they have one base in the horn of africa, it's mostly used for persian gulf operations. the important part is it's leased to the US, as in the US pays rental fees, and the host country has no obligation to them. the chinese on the other hand basically create a hostage situation where the host country unwillingly has to hand over rights for free, long-term, and also keep paying china.
