Yeah, It's tough to pick epic moments from this show without context since these scenes are built up over several episodes.
Basically, Jack was captured outside a hospital because he has vital evidence of a false flag attack stored on a microchip.
They took him to a sub basement and tortured the hell out of him for the location of the chip, and stopped his heart in the process.
They grabbed a doctor to revive him, and due to in fighting amongst the thugs they killed the interrogation expert. So they used the doctor to inject a fictitious drug called Beraglyde which paralyzes the diaphragm, obstructing breathing. In small doses it works for about a minute.
Jack whispered to the doctor to help him when the thugs were talking amongst themselves.
