It is common practice to store documents and servers in defunct mining operations. Large secure area that is robust to neutrinos and solar radiation makes it a good way to gaurantee the safety of documents long term.

The only thing weird, albeit not surprising, about it is that the "news organisation" does not expose musk as the liar he is:

THERE IS NO FUCKING ELEVATOR THAT CAN "DELAY" PEOPLE RETIRING, WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?

IKR

This is what nazi scum wants from the administration: shutting up people that have different opinions or fact check their idols. And they are well on the way, AP has been "banned" from the white house I read this morning.

What is needed now are republicans with both conscience and balls to put an end to this sharade. But I guess much, MUCH worse needs to happen before this will be considered.

Musk was lying his ass off, what ppl can't retire? when your time comes you retire and you get paid, simple, everything that guy just said is a lie.

And the news or whatever that shit is started showing flooded caves, as if that is where the document are stored, and they will digitalize the entire thing, what if all servers get damaged, including the backups? just looking at chip prices today it would not be a good thing to digitalize it, i don't think it ever has been.

Just for security reasons i would not digitalize it, on a computer you can change everything in seconds, but gaining access to all the physical papers and changing them to get at your political enemies, would be alot more difficult.
