There is so much past Doom that we can't keep paste and always refer to Doom.

This gave me flashbacks. The first crack I ever had was on a floppy disk, 3 1/2, and it was for doom. I once bought a disk called '666 more levels of Doom' that I have never seen or heard of anyone else owning that had some amazing levels on it. Just for shits and giggles I got my70 year old grandmother to play. I moved around the level and she held her finger on the shoot button. She really started to get into it after awhile. Back then computers were completely an unknown thing to grandparents much like the vcr.

If you remember fondly of the old Doom games, I fully recommend playing them once again on a modern sourceport like ZDoom or Zandorum. It is essentially the same game but with a better modernized engine allowing for modern controls and the ability to look and aim up and down (and jump and crouch of which I recommend responsible use because it can break the way some maps were meant to be played). I also recommend disabling "enable auto aim" in the options as this original Doom feature did not age well (and it makes trying to lead a moving target with the rocket launcher a pain in the ass).
I also fully recommend to play it with the Brutal Doom mod. The guns feel far more satisfying to shoot and it gives you better options to deal with far away or bullet sponge enemies, which are downright tedious to deal with in the unmodified game.
With both the sourceport and Brutal Doom mod it becomes a very solid and fun game even by today's standards.

Yeah brutal Doom is great. Not just because theres more blood and gore, but the game play just flows so nicely.
