I read all 6 books back in the day and loved them, though book 1 was the best and glad it was remade. Saw the David Lynch movie from 1984 obviously. For some reason, I didn't want to see the first movie a few years ago and watched it on TV-some were saying it wasn't great. I heard Dune2 was epic, so I figured I'd watch it in a nice place. 45 minute ride for IMAX and nice chairs. It really was amazing. Best movie I've seen in the theater in a long time. Sure, the Banana Jealousy Kush pre-roll puffed before and the IMAX were key, but the effects and story made it an upper-level sci-fi movie for the ages.

Yeah, to me there are a few movies that must be watched in IMAX and this is one of them. Oh and I left out the music. The Hans Zimmer soundtrack behind the movie is riveting and with high-quality audio, it's perfect.
