Is Encouraging Suicide Wrong?

Ah, glad you posted this, I remember this case and was following it but I forgotten about it. It is an interesting debate.

Of course texts can be taken out of context and can be misintterpreted as they are jsut words and have no expressionable emotion other than what is written. I can see this kid saying he's going to kill himself if he cant see her or some shit like that, happens all the time, and she has enough and says "do it". Hell, I've told people to go kill themselves and wouldnt lose sleep over it if they had. All that aside, the legal qeustion is interesting, do you or I have a duty to save someone? If we dont then we can be criminally charged. What if someone is planning to off themselves, hates you so they text you asking for help and say "go kill yourself" and they do, are you to be charged?
