Hmmmm Currywurst, Germany's favourite fast food, either with a bun or some fries. At least it was when I still lived there, now it is probably Döner. The ones shown are made from Rindswurst, I prefer the ones made from Bratwurst.

VW bought Rivian, btw. Maybe they want to expand into authentic burgers?

Having been to Frankfurt on a couple business trips I'll agree the food was tasty. I didn't do cartwheels for the beer like Americans do, but this is cause the beer here in Canada is equally strong and flavorful.

As for moving into burgers, this may be the long-term business strategy for when the country eventually outlaws pork (as you say, if the current trend continues).

Why would they outlaw pork? In Germany they have freedom of as well as from religion.

A German delicacy is "Mettbrötchen", seasoned raw pork mince with onions in a bun, very tasty!

Well, you said it yourself. Doner is on the rise cause of Germany being a civilized society and looking out for minority rights.

Döner is on the rise everywhere because it tastes good, is usually excellent value for money and healthier than many other fast foods.

In contrary to general belief Döner Kebap is not a traditional turkish dish but was invented in Berlin, Germany by a turkish immigrant, even industry standards are in existence for it.

Here we go. Default/deflect to it being about skin colour or religion (again further dialogue going on inside your head only) when some of the best Christians are non-white. Shout out to the Ethiopians.

You're the one citing non-existent/unenforceable quality standards. No one knows what goes on inside the kitchen behind closed doors. That's why the less processed it is, the better it is. Period. This includes sausage by the way. Give me fresh cubed beef or pork on the fire, pita bread, with some yogurt/diced cucumber/red wine vinegar (tzatziki), any day.  Or chicken instead.  Or try the fresh calamari (on ice since it was caught the winter before).

Your babble about standards is not related to the ones I posted and kitchen hygiene is an issue for all restaurants. Döner is not prepared behind closed doors, btw, the ingredients are fresh and on display.

Where I live greek restaurants are few and far between. I found a new one in Palma and we're going tomorrow. I am very particular about Tsatziki and hope they are up to scratch on it..... At least the place isn't in a tourist area.

It's not a babble. The less you fidget with the natural ingredients the better the meal is. I hope you and the Mrs. have a pleasant meal. I forgot the crushed clove of garlic in the tzatziki recipe above but that's it right there. Just remember  that if you have some, make sure the wife has some too, that way there's no excuses for an after dinner kiss.

You know the Belgian fries? The traditional meat eaten with it (in de frituur) is Curryworst or stoofvlees/stewmeat.

At home the fries go with steak with salad and tomatoes
