Hezbollah's objective was a prisoner swap.

Right, so let's get this straight.  The two guys that were captured were actually killed during their attempted capture.  Turns out the Lebanese aren't as bad ass as they like to claim as they botched the attempted kidnapping and were forced to lie about what they had accomplished.

Israel was merciful if you ask me.  They should have used their awesome intelligence abilities to located the Hezbollah leadership before blowing them and everyone within a quarter mile to hell.

The only reason kidnappers ply their trade is because they believe it will work.  If Israel's stance was that shit like this gets you erased from the face of the map then nobody would dare pull shit like this.

Israel's awesome intelligence capabilities couldn't decipher the unencrypted comms they were using. Hezbollah outsmarted them by using basic walkies but used local South Lebo farmer slang which the Jews don't understand haha.

The only reason kidnappers ply their trade...

The reason they took the POWs is becuse Israel had thousands of Lebanese in their prisons & refused to hand them over.

Israel's primary objective WAS to erase Hezbollah. They simply couldn't, despite waging a vicious air campaign that targetted everything including civi infastructure & UN outposts. The destruction was so bad that it was a factor that made them have to sue for peace.

You can watch the operation here if you wanna see it. They seem to be alive when captured but it's hard to tell.
