When this episode aired Marcuse had not yet issued his foundational paper - there was, in actuality, no existence of a thing that sal just referred to in the description as "Wokeism". Marcuse issued his foundational paper in 1969 and was recruited into the CIA shortly thereafter.
One of the major thrust points of wokeism is to take the progress of the civil rights movement, a sign post of which you can see here, and hijack it and reverse the progress that has been made. That's what sal9000 is doing right here with this post, as he's been instructed by the ideology. Whether he knows it's all in the service of hurting the marginalized to accelerate death, confusion, disruption and decay is up to you to decide. I think he knows he's making things worse and that, because his daddy was mean to him, he thinks it's God's fault.
The "woke" and "wokeism" are specifically designed to reverse the truth that this scene represented. He revels so hard in the evil that he basks in that the only source of pleasure he can achieve now is confirmation that he has fooled you into believing that wokeism is supporting of the sentiment expressed by this scene (and the over-arching cultural message it represented) while all along it is, in fact, adamantly opposed to everything this scene represents. The idea of blacks and whites mixing like this utterly disgusts wokeists like sal9000, regardless of whatever poor sal tries to lie in his defense. They are RACISTS, EXCLUSIONISTS, and NAZIS who tell you they've taken the best parts of marxism and the best parts of Nazism and gotten rid of all the bad parts to produce the perfect Hegelian utopian belief system. THIS IS WHAT HE BELIEVES - you decide whether he's fucking out of his nut or not. It seems pretty obvious to me.

A definite step forward for TV in the day. I read somewhere that the producers actually tried to film a second/alternate scene where the intimate exchange between the comms officer and the captain occurred just off camera, so they could decide in editing which one to use. But Nichols and Shatner deliberately flubbed their lines on the second take so that producers were stuck airing the first. Good stuff.
