you don't know what you're talking about
nvidia, like AMD's gpu division, aren't really in the video card business. they're in the gpu(graphic processing unit) business, they technically don't even produce the chips themselves. but anyways. they sell those chips to manufactorers like asus, msi, evga, gigabyte, sapphire... who each then release multiple varients of video cards using that single chip. so if 8 manufactorers release 2 video cards(high and low end) for the rtx 3080, the 3090 and the 3070. thats alot of video cards on the market before the release of the ps5, and thats just from nvidia. amd's launching the zen 3 later in the year, so that could double the amount of cards on the market.
for every ps4 unit sold, sony makes less than 20.00$. for each of those units sold. AMD makes 100.00$. thats because amd owns the architecture in the ps4, they also own the architecture in the ps5, buying a ps5 is investing in amd

they better. as it stands, sony's going to loose about 100.00$ on each ps5 console. they claw back some money off the sales off "sold seperatly" stuff like extra controllers, headsets..
as for games. sony does make money off the sales of video games, but its a percentage of the sale and royalty fee. so for a game like last of us which was developed by a company owned by sony. sony might get upwards of 30% of the sale and just talking about digital sales. for a game thats made by an outside company but made for the playstation(shadow of the colossus), sony gets a smaller percentage and a royalty fee. for a game thats made by an outside company and has been ported to the playstation(gta/rdr2). sony gets an even smaller percentage of the sale and again a royalty fee.
where sony playstations department makes money is microtransactions, susbscriptions, developer fees and liscensing fees. a good chunk of change comes from disney, apple, netflix, amazon prime and whatever paying to be on the playstation network.

Yeah and add all that up and you are rich :)
playstation GFX will be better, loading times are reduced to none it will also be backwards compatible with PS4 with upscaling and higher framerate and emulate everything that came earlyer
playstation will beat xbox 4 to 1 roughly i wouldent be supprised if it is more, that is alot of gamers troughout the entire world, the average gamer buy's 30 to 50 games per generation, so that is alot of money if you add that up, i believe it is a good investment now that they overthrow their competition

Yeah, upgraded my card this spring for a 2060. Now for the same price, I'd be getting 2x the performance.

stokkebye (sounds retarded)
When RTX came out I was bulding my rig, almost went with it until the reveiws started pouring in and I decided against RTX and went with a 1070ti for $250, caught the price drop just in time before the market jacked the price back up when people found it was not worth the price. No complaints! And saved a buttload of cash! Might be upgrading though for Christmas! This is lookin pretty sweet!
