The Hong Kong Hospital Authority said at around 6pm, a 49-year-old man was injured in Sunday's public event on the Hong Kong Island and was admitted to Ruttonjee Hospital in critical condition.

- sauce
The victim is a waiter and when he saw some protesters raising the Japanese and UK flags as he got off work, apparently he called them "traitors" & said "I'm Chinese".

More democracy was spread this weekend in other parts of Hong Kong...
After Sunday’s unauthorized protest march, I witnessed a crowd of protesters beat a man bloody in Hong Kong’s Tin Hau neighborhood. It’s not clear why they targeted him.#HongKongProtests pic.twitter.com/vfOZQ7tgJX

was reported a few weeks ago that the chinese government was planting people among the protesters to commit acts of violence to try to turn public opinion (which has been very supportive and growing) against the protest movement. the story broke from videos posted by hong kong people talking about how they couldn't understand what the people committing the violence were shouting because they were speaking a form of chinese not from hong kong. as in one of your reports "it's unclear why he was targeted" because now they stay silent while committing the violence so as not to give themselves away as non-HK plants.

Yeah i wouldent be supprised if it happened, i went undercover at protests during occupy wallstreet, i am sure they expected violence of me, but it was never stated, so i threw a teargass cannister back at the cops, then i stood in line with another battalion and had to close off the street, doing so i had to beat the ppl into submission they couldent leave anymore.

I've heard this too but with no evidence to back it up. Thing is you see a mob that big committing crimes you know most of them if not all of them are HK citizens. The "Peaceful" protesters should end their protests and let the whole thing calm down then they can move forward from there, keeping the protests moving forward at this point is just perpetuating all the violence and they are no better then the ones committing crimes as they are fueling the fire.

Funny how quickly people become conspiracy theorists when they're backed into a corner.
"was reported" is weaker than "sources say". Just FYI.
