the calls these guys get, having to drag people out of homes because they took the battery out of the smoke detectors.. i don't blame them. shit, i'd roll up the hose so the water inside gets dumped in the backseat

Ya know, we had this problem in computers for a long time. Then they made right angle connectors. If they had an angled connector(not an angled hose) then all this could be avoided. Or, instead of putting hydrants with the outlet perpendicular to the street, it could be at an angle.
