yeah this is totally a thing. bunch of doctors in my circle, including a couple surgeons and aneasthetists. back even just a few years ago we'd all nod and agree how masks weren't worth anything at all against the flu and they to protect against fluid spatter, nothing more. now all but 2 firmly swear not only that masks do protect against respiratory viruses but that they always did and that was why they wore them in surgery. their entire reality has been changed.
