i totally respect dude for voicing his opinion to Kanye...and ive never liked Kanye, but i totally respect him for voicing his opinion about race in general. He's actually right...they have so much freedom now, that '400 years of oppression' has become nothing more than a standard-go-to response...a crutch that they all lean on and use against everyone ..no matter how un-racist something may be, 'i ordered chicken tenders and they gave me wings...Racist!!' ..gets taken advantage of far too often. Political correctness needs to go out the window and fast, or else we are all doomed..race be damned.

I would warn against referring to an entire race as a single, sentient being. Saying "they" are treated better doesn't work because working on an individual level you can only claim your own experience, not the experiences of your ancestors.
A quick anecdote: A few weeks ago I hired a new front desk agent for my hotel and it was a young, black SJW type; I'm very liberal myself so I thought we'd get along but apparently I pissed her off when I told her on her first day of showing up late that she needs to arrive on time. She came at me with, "you don't know what it's like to be me" and "you're lucky you don't get pulled over because you're white" and shit like that. I told her that I have no control over that and that she needs to get here on time and she said, "well, it's you guys who are in charge." She was then shown the door.
If you don't experience it yourself you cannot claim it, is how I look at "oh, my race." Yes, blacks in general have been intentionally given a pretty bad hand, but if you were born in 1991 then you are allowed to claim everything from 1991 to present as "your experience", but to say that you know about slavery because of what happened to your great-great-grandmother...that's bullshit. I can't claim that I have "experienced" World War II because my grandfather fought Italians just like she couldn't claim the experiences of her ancestors. There is no group of white people who sit around and decide shit for whites just like there is no group of black people sitting around deciding shit for blacks. This is why I warn against using broad terms when referring to experience.

wow! That is some kinda shit for any employer to have to deal with THAT kind of employee on the 1st fucking day?!?!? damn! ..there'll be a news van there tomorrow. (hopefully not) .. african americans have had to suffer a great many ordeals over the decades, All of those years of opression and striving to end this sort of thing...only to conclude that they're the only ones still perpetuating it. WHEN will be the day they acknowledge & recognize & finally state loudly & proudly "We Have Overcome!!" ....?... look at Africa today....Africa today is the result of those who werent captured & sold into slavery, yet i dont see anyone in any sorta hurry to go there... that's all im sayin

What I think Kanye was saying is that the fact that black people stayed enslaved for four hundred years and no one did anything that amounted to a major resistance, a revolution through any means at all, even though they had many opportunities logically, means that they were not thinking logically. They were kept so far down, so mentally and physically controlled , through terror and torture that a simple idea as violent revenge, which had to, and did cross black people's mind, all the time, never materialized into any significant action as a group. There are plenty of stories of slaves killing their owners, but few about any major conspiracies to free themselves in any way. (If there was, I would love to know about it).
Though there are other ways to word that opinion that doesn't make it seem like black people were like: "Slavery or Freedom? I chose slavery!"
The counter-argument to this is of course that it was impossible for them to fight back in any significant way, which may very well be possible. Also that over four hundred years, black people were born into a reality, a way of life, we can't even begin to imagine realistically.
Now what leads Kanye to say these things in an interview for TMZ, who are in no way messengers of moral values when it comes to race, context or journalistic integrity, remains a mystery, even though he did try to explain it.
He does have an upcoming album which could be a motive for this "crime" of saying controversial politically incorrect statements as a black man just as the Western world, his targeted audience, seems to be fixated on them for maximum attention.
This could also be how he thinks and talks all the time, but since he's dropped off the radar somewhat, there hasn't been footage or audio recordings that picked it up as these opinions were being shaped.
But again, this is TMZ. There were cuts in this interview and there was no telling what other kinds of questions he was actually responding to or how long he sat there.
Right now... I feel like he's the opposite of Eminem, who suddenly went FAAAAR LEFT and doesn't even seem to register that he himself helped define political incorrectness by building his career on being politically incorrect.

I agree. He had something decent to say but he exaggurated & it came out all fucked up.
Telling someone that their ancestors chose to be slaves has gotta sting though, considering the form of slavery we're talking about.

Kanye is definitely entitled to his opinion and it's the fault of the media for giving an obviously mentally ill self-promoter a pulpit. Anyone who has known Kanyes antics even a little recognizes that he's mentally ill and with his own admission that he was an opiod addict, everything he says should just be ignored. It's actually comedic the attention he's getting. Kanye needs help and to amp up his meds, not skip them.

It isn't so much about drugs with Kanye. He has serious emotional issues. He's always firing off about being a God and a great man, self-promoting while looking like a deranged idiot.
Just an opinion. He is saying he is full of "Dragon energy" and a "Stable genius", so in the cult of Kanye, he really is.
