Let’s make a Neolithic Longbow

imagine being the guy who comes up with the idea of using a piece of wood and string to launch smaller spears but nobody listening to you because you're just a gatherer

flint knapping has got me wondering. what do people do with all the rocks they chip off?

if the little chips are large enough to grip in your finger tips and sharp, cutting whatever.

this is what i was thinking. flint knapping produces a lot of chips. we can find places in the world where flint knapping took place thousands of years ago because of the chips left over. which makes me wonder, where are the average joes putting the chips. how do you make a bunch of rocks disappear without pissing people off. i'm thinking they end up in the garbage

Threshing boards or something like that could use large quantities of flint knappings.

proof of concept is enough one would think? Either you get accused of being an evil spirit or you get to marry the prettiest of the chiefs 10 daughters.

50/50?! Either way bow has been invented several thousand times, like the wheel ..... inevitable. As for the knapping ...... saws and the bigger bits used on clubs and makeshift wooden swords.

use sap from trees and spinkle obsidian bits on it....... torture, just need imagination =)
