I've been playing around with quads for a while and that range is pretty damn impressive. Line of sigh is no problem, especially for the controls and with the right radio, but the video feed is another thing. Going through those small canyons...don't know how he's able to get a flyable video feed.

There's usually two cameras. A GoPro for the HD footage and a small FPV camera for the live video so you can see where you're going. The FPV footage is pretty low quality and prone to interference / break up even when your flying close by.
It's still amazing what people can still do with a shitty video feed.
