on Microsoft Flight Simulator, i can never get the descent rate and velocity to stay steady with just trim and slight adjustments to thrust, at least on medium and large planes, tiny changes make them move so much. i end up using autopilot until i'm in the glide slope, then autothrust at about 10-15% above stall speed all the way until it's almost time to flare.
