No good deed...

Good deed?  They would have treated him regardless of his lack of health insurance, all she had to do was take him to the clinic.  The question here is who should get the bill.  Instead of paying for the doctors visit herself, which would have ACTUALLY been the good deed, she figured she would defraud the insurance company and have the bill sent to them instead under her son's name.

BTW, if this kid were poor then he would qualify for Medicaid (Government Health Insurance) and even if he family made above the limit for that he could have qualified for CHIP.

ACTUALLY the kid was denied service at the first clinic they went to. something to do with the kid being a minor and her not being his guardian.

Oh, so the clinic following the law justifies her fraud then?  No.  If his parent or guardian was unable or unwilling to get him medical care the answer is to contact Children's Services.  There are already agencies established to address child neglect and abuse, which this is.  During my time in LE I called them more than a few times.

that looks like you. bald, glasses, fucked up teeth.

what should the clinic do? the right thing. you don't know the story. could be a single dad and a daughter having problems with her period and not wanting to tell her farther.... but if you want to call CS for that, take NY state as the example. 28% of kids are abused in foster care. so because of you. 1 out of every 4 kids, were taken from there home and sent to a stranger to be abused. congratulations.

During your time in LE, how many times did you arrest fellow officers for DWI? you didnt follow the law did you? you probably did the right thing.

I wasn't sure if that would get your goat but this reply tells me you're pissed off by that meme.  Thank you, I feel better knowing you were upset by what was conveyed in that image.  It's going to make ripping your argument apart all the sweeter.

what should the clinic do? the right thing.

The right thing was to follow the law.  This kid wasn't about to die, he had strep throat for fuck sake.  I'm beginning to think you're either a naive teenager with no understanding of how the real world works; or worse, a adult who still thinks like a naive teenage with no understanding of how the real world works.

you don't know the story.

I don't know the story?  Are you saying the bitch is lying about the kid being sick and his parents no providing him care?  Because that's the story she's telling everyone.  That's the story that you and I have to go off.  So if you know the real fucking story then by all means share it, otherwise spare me your bullshit "you don't know the story" claim just because you want to avoid having to defnd your retarded arguments.

could be a single dad and a daughter having problems with her period and not wanting to tell her farther.

Would of, could of, should of.  Motherfucker we aren't talking about that made up bullshit story.  We're talking about the story in the video.  And in that story the kid had a bacterial infection of his throat and parents that would not take him to the doctor.  That is a clear cut case of child neglect and abuse and there are state authorities that exist to address those circumstances.  There was no need for her to commit insurance fraud.  And even if her plan had worked it would not have fixed the BIGGER problem.

28% of kids are abused in foster care.

And 100% of the kid's this dumb cunt committed a felony to "help" are being neglected by their parents.  Are you seriously trying to make an argument against contacting authorities?  Your dumb ass would rather leave kids in homes where they're being neglected because "28% of kids are abused in foster care"?  And this didn't happen in NY you stupid fuck, this happened in Indiana, therefore your stats are irrelevant.

so because of you. 1 out of every 4 kids, were taken from there home and sent to a stranger to be abused.

No because of me 1 out of every 1 kids are not left in their homes to be abused and neglected by parents who are suppose to love and care for them.  Once again you prove to have the mind of a naive teenager with ZERO understanding of how the REAL world works.

During your time in LE, how many times did you arrest fellow officers for DWI?

Again with this red herring bullshit, I'm not taking the bait bitch.  This issue has FUCK ALL to do with DWI and whatever hard-on you have for cops in general.  The fact you are trying to shift this argument proves you are an intellectually dishonest faggot.

Speaking of my time in LE, I did call children's services to report neglect after being dispatched on a welfare check.  I arrived to find five children between 4 and 10 living in a single wide trailer with no electricity or running water in the middle of summer.  Of course, if I had followed your RETARDED advice I guess I would have done nothing about it because some bullshit stat that says 1 in 4 kids are abused in foster care.  Instead I reported their situation to the proper State authorities who I'm sure verified what I witnessed and remove the chidren.

i didnt know this was a meme but knowyourmeme thanks you for your contribution.

dude the only thing your ripping apart are the packages on ding dongs and ho hos

1 for 1? bs. of the 7.1 million refferals in 2016. 42% of them were dismissed. of the 58% of the reports that went thru. only 6% were sent to foster care. so thats 7,4 million kids reported, 3,108,000 kids cases are dismissed, of the 4,292,000 kids cases that are investigated, only 676,000 kids are placed in foster care. so if its in NY state. the kid has a 1-4 chance of abuse. if its arizona or idaho, its 20-40% 20's seem average. and since you made no effort to look back in on any of the reports, you can't claim 1 for 1. you were not a super cop, you're a super cunt.

most officers with a good track record move up, they don't leave to work IT.

the day you got hired as a cop. how many of your friends did you arrest that day? if you followed the law and considering some statue of limitations can reach back 15 years. it should be alot. did you follow the law or do the right thing?

that's not really fair because the bill for cash payments is more than 100x higher than insurance companies get charged.

Shows how fucked the system is, in Belgium you pay like 78 Euro's a year children and ppl under care dont pay anything, you go to the hospital you pay for instance 30 bucks for xrays and get automaticaly refunded 27 Euro's back you so you pay about 3 to 5 euro per visit.

Then you think who pays for the rest of the healthcare? taxes -, who earns more pays more taxes,

socialism and it works.

"who earns more pays more taxes"..that sounds really great for the person who doesnt make alot of money or work enough hours...but where's the incentive to persue an education that would secure a higher paying job?

It is not that you pay higher taxes that you have less money, they still have more at the end of the month

Have to agree with fullauto here. This was not a good deed. It was fraud committed on the insurance and all her fellow insured. If the kid was sick the parents should have taken them to the ER (I believe they have to treat you there in an emergency regardless of insurance, please correct me if I am wrong).

that'd only be true if the price was the same. people without insurance get billed more than 100x the amount that insurance companies do for the exact same procedures and medicines. if anything going through insurance avoids fraud.

Now I am not an expert in US healthcare, do you have any proof that cash payers are charged 100 times what insurance pays?

Still, just baecause something is (deemed) unfair it does not make it "not fraud".

No he doesn't.  Plus his claim is bullshit.  Medical providers routinely offer discounts to people who are willing to pay cash up front.

Insurance providers may be charged less because they negotiate prices ahead of time but it's nowhere NEAR 100x less.

Thanks man.  So many people have a chip on their shoulder about the US healthcare system that they refuse to look at what the ACTUAL problem here was.  The problem was FRAUD.  And as I've pointed out in a previous comment, she didn't need to personally take him to the clinic.  If his medical needs were being neglected by his parents then the correct course of action would be to contact Children's Services and report a case of neglect.  They have the authority and the mandate to get him the medical care he needs and if it's bad enough, remove him from his parents care and into the care of a responsible adult.

Just out of interest: Would the emergency room have the obligation to treat the child regardless of insurance cover?

emergency rooms will treat anyone who enters..insured or not...however, they DO send you the bill..matta-o-fact, i took my child to the ER in December, and LITERALLY got the bill TODAY...all they did were the usual flu/strep test, gave some meds, sent us home..  the bill is apparently over $2500!!!  This most certainly cannot be right and i'll be contacting the hospital for an itemized statement to fight this. (my kids are uninsured btw..their insurance dropped them because ..ahem.. i make "too much money" )

Shut the fuck up.  Nobody is saying that.  And the DA is letting her off with a slap on the wrist.

Nothing wrong with our county, unless you count the dumb cunts who are too stupid to call a 1-800 number to report a case of child neglect and instead make the RETARDED choice to defraud her health insurance provider.

Nobody says fuck the poor.  If the kid's family is too poor to afford medical care then they qualify for Medicade, on top of CHIP for the minor.

This story had nothing to do with the homeless you virtue signally nitwit.

Society is fucked and you know what makes it more fucked up?  Dumb shits like you who get off talking mad shit about all the "bad stuff" for internet points.
