The video is 2 years old, the program came a long way, but you get the idea, you just put all your games together in a folder you go to -settings -game list - choose the folder were all your games are located, and checkmark -recursive that way it scans inside folders, so you can put each game in it's own folder, this is not needed but is easy to keep track of what you have
Read all the options when you move your mouse cursor over the options, there is an explanation what it is or does.
If you are looking for a gamepad? The logitech F310 is cheap but rely good for old games where you use the Dpad, or you can set it to play with mouse and keyboard but that is not advisable
On the xbox series x controllers the Dpad blows, it is unusable, analog sticks however are some of the best, so i own series x - for new games and logitech gamepad for old
This just shown new is not always better, "said grandpa" I hope he was not referring to me :)
Also this runs on a potato phone if you want it, an old phone with bluetooth gamepad
(cool)
20 years ago there was the SNES emulator and similar websites for free games.
20 years from now there will be the same thing for Xbox and PS5, lol.

cdromance only goes as high as Playstation 2 but that can change soon, soon as the newer games become nostalgic, hard to find or difficult to play, it is rely about preservation.
