PM-3a Nuclear Power Plant Reactor at McMurdo Base Antarctica Nukey Poo

This US Navy / Atomic Energy Commission video discusses the installation of the PM3a nuclear reactor at American's McMurdo Base in Antarctica. the reactor, nicknamed Nukey Poo by McMurdo staff, was installed in 1962. The nuclear power plant was to provide electricity, heat, and a desalinization plant for the base. The reactor ended up having severe leakage problems and was dismantled in 1972.
