Like pseudohistory and pseudoarchaeology, it's based on myths without actual evidence, which is fun because it doesn't require all that fact-based, truthful source boring bullshit. Believe what you want and whatever makes you happy. Alternative reality is where it's at. Joe giving it a platform is a good thing.
