Not advocating for the final conclusion (I don't know much about it) but enjoyed some of the logical points scored, including that Facebook is evil.

Well they have been in the spotlight many times about user data being sold or leaked, enough is enough.
When you become too greedy you loose it all.
They should have just relied on ads

Dude, it's the comment the senator makes about legalese in the end-user agreement that allows them to potentially hide a dead body. What gets me is that they essentially upload and test 3rd party apps onto your phone to run in the background doing test uploads and downloads on behalf of the mystery vendor. Whenever I'm forced to go on Facebook I very quickly log back out and clear my phone's browser history. The difference in battery life is significant when you come off. Zuckerberg is the devil. Seriously, fuck that guy.
