Poilievre is a false "messiah" for Canada. Used to like him quite a bit, Lately his views are just more of the same as the rest.
It's a shame too, when he talks money, he makes *cents* har har har. But he has just enough healthy goods in his platform to rope the right wing in, yet not enough to mislead those that remain focused on the core issues.
PPC is still the party fighting for the correct things.

True that. My strongest criticism would be that after all this time everyone knows what he's 'against'... we just don't know what he's 'for'. No substance as to how he would do it differently. I say this with all due cynicism. I've already seen plenty of opposition leaders become PM only to cry 'scorched earth' and that nothing could be done to improve things.

There is a lot of fundamental problems.
1. You can't be progressive conservative. That's just copying the tories direction in UK. Just be a shamelessly conservative party, accept the hate from one demographic but earn the respect from the other.
2. Every one of them has to swear oaths to the crown to take their position. That tells you right there they don't work for us.
3. None of them are bring up the anti white issue.
4. None of them address eminent domain in regards to property rights. Which is the government claim that they steal your land for any reason or no reason cause it's their's first. Which means land ownership is a lie.
5. No one is saying no to the green agenda, c40 cities, or bringing up constitutional protections to ensure the eternal existence of physical cash.
6. No one is talking about replacing appointed lieutenant governors with ELECTED governors. In fact they don't talk about this shadow government at all.
7. No one is talking about throwing the Chinese soldiers out of our country or seizing the resources back that we sold them years ago.
8. Still no clean water or back payments on the money we owe to the indigenous that was part of the deal for purchasing the land we live on. In fact it's like they pretend they don't exist at all.
9. No one speaking out about pedophile transvestite hour with our children.
10. No intentions to give Canadians more guns back, only talks to take away more. Can't have a population that can defend themselves at all costs.
People's party on the other hand addresses all these things except maybe eminent domain, and that is why they are either smeared or suppressed in the news, especially during election season.

I think we said previously you're American-Canadian so you're definitely looking at things through a prism. Don't get me wrong, important issues,.. just not all a hill to die on at the moment. I find your bringing up guns as a priority interesting. I'm a gun owner myself but unlike the US I don't see the need for a well-armed militia (as enshrined in the US constitution). And you don't need an Uzi to shoot deer.
But progressive conservative is a thing, though. Having tracked as left-of-center myself when I did that CBC online survey 5 years back, I imagine given what the 'new left' is that there are now a lot of us falling just right of center these days (which isn't hard). That doesn't mean we'll be against gay rights or suddenly want to take away a woman's right to choose. But in my opinion Poilievre has blown it, for the reason I mentioned above.

Well they just banned hand guns. Now they are trying to put forth another bill that will ban over 4000 types of your long guns and shotguns.
The goal is that you won't have ANY guns soon enough.
In the northwest territories and Yukon they use AR 15 for dealing with bears and wolves. Bears are big, and they may not go down in a few shots. You do not want a wounded bear with an adrenal gland right next to it's heart charging you when your mag runs empty.
But, It's not just about that. It's about maintaining some balance of power between citizen and government.
If you eventually have no guns, and with how corrupt things can get. What protects you from them? The honest answer is nothing. There is not one example in history where people have voted their way out of tyranny.
I'm not surprised most of the left of center would rather side with right of center. the "new left" are a bunch of mentally ill schizophrenics. The regular people that don't subscribe to their nonesense are just Canadians. Ain't no right or left about it, just simply individuals that all have different ideas about how to approach different issues.
As far as hills to die on.
You should look up the war strategy of "Fait Accompli" Take small bites of people's freedom none large enough to stand up for by itself, but when it goes on long enough eventually there is nothing left. This has been happening for decades.
There is only one way to defeat this strategy. When you realize it is happening you need to stand up for yourself and take it all back. The bigger your enemy, the more critical it is to do this.

I hear you, but your American side is strong on this topic. We just need to look south to your mere patrie to see the other extreme of what happens to a society with no gun laws at all. Time will tell. As for the bear, yeah. This is why I keep a slug or 2 in my belt even when hunting grouse, just where I can get at them quick in the event of a chance encounter. I guess I'm saying that there's always a safe(r) workaround.

Overwhelming majority of shooting are done in disarmed blue counties. If everyone carries and trains with their weapons then there are no easy targets.
Only cowards do shootings, because they know the people are helpless.
Gun laws don't stop bad people from getting guns. Only normal people.
Las vegas shooting was a government op. Justice department is going after patriots hard for everything down south, Guns are their holy grail.
They disarm the population your head will spin with how fast middle of the night arrests and "disappearances" will sky rocket.
Plus you can see for yourself how our current government loves white and indigenous Canadians. They have been rolling out illegal legislation against expression non stop since 2017, and it ain't slowing down. It's very clear their goal is exterminating anti new world order segments of the population.
Their only concern is how can they sell it without people burning the country down.

I'm going to submit something for your consideration cause your first sentence above would only make sense if you mean '(After the US), the overwhelming majority of (mass) shootings are done in disarmed blue(? liberal) countries'.
What I'd like you to consider is this. Everyone's making a big deal about AI finally being here (in the form of Chat GPT, etc). But I'll remind you that this is actually the second wave of AI impacting our society. For the last several years AI algorithms have been customizing our internet feeds, taking us down the rabbit-hole so to speak, and giving us only what we're looking for. Again, this is the value of a site like Spiked where we get out of the echo-chamber and hear dissenting opinions - which is great!
So I'll ask you to maybe run a search or two outside your usual repertoire, to throw that search algorithm off every now and then. [e.g. 'Post second world war Canadian lesbian poetry' - really can't recommend that one enough after someone on here posts one of his fair-and-balanced vids, lols]. Stay safe BS.
