One of the reasons he got into bed with the orange twat: Make sure he gets a pardon for his silly, from reality detached false advertising promises and consequences of them, like this accident.
Calling this "autopilot" is irresponsible and reckless.

What really boggles my mind is how they rely on cameras only. Radar is a must and would actually make it safer than any human driver. It can see in the dark, sun in your face, when it's raining, snowing or fog and most importantly it doesn't have to understand what a fuck it is seeing to take action.

Those cameras can be blinded by sunlight coming along the horizon. Maybe just for a second but it's concerning when I get the message. Also, yes lidar is more expensive ($500-$1000 for one) but just having that backup for collision detection seems a no brainer. Apparently the harder problem is trying to integrate the lidar data into the camera data. Not impossible but the car is 100% trained on camera data.

Yes of course, but as they said it in the video, RADAR is EXPENSIVE.
A self driving car must actually drive way safer than a good driver, only then it should be implemented, RADAR and other aids are necessary for that. This is why competent and responsible companies still have huge bumps on the roof of their FSD cars.

One thing that this video mixes up is the difference between Auto Pilot (AP) and full self driving (FSD). Auto Pilot keeps the car in the lane and does braking and the like but does not drive the car around. When they are quoting Musk at the end of the video, he is referencing FSD. As an aside, FSD is considered safer than AP.
Then in the end when Missy comments of the technology to not keep in the cars, she is referring to AP, 'having the car do most of the driving and requiring you to pay attention" and not FSD.
I add that clarification as the video doesn't clarify the distinction well between AP and FSD and thus wonder if viewers would consider this as a reflection on all types of auto pilot and self driving.
With that said, this video raises some great points, that people think the AP is reliable and trust it. What's interesting is that the car gives warnings when drivers don't have their hand on the wheel and the video said the guy was notified 19 times. Today, after 5 violations the car takes AP away for a week. But I believe this is much more recent and may have been introduced due to pressure by the NHTSA.
One thing that I really don't like is how Musk says the FSD has less accidents than the US average. What he is subtly not saying is that this is not equal across each accident type. Yes, maybe more safe for regular driving but then if FSD is 100x worse for certain scenarios like a flipped over truck or stopped police car... this is never shared by Tesla and I'm glad to see news agencies are highlighting these gaps.
That guy says it all though, it doesn't learn while driving and if it wasn't trained on a certain scenario then it doesn't know how to deal with it. The car isn't thinking... It will get there but we are bordering on AGI where the car is making intelligent decisions vs just following the best path that it's been trained on.
I feel Tesla has been experimenting with people's live here. I hope NHTSA doesn't lose control of this...

No they don't, the lady knows EXACTLY what she is talking about. The way this is advertised is simply misleading and irresponsible. People don't fact check that shit, that is why these accidents happen. They put a tennis ball on the wheel and go to sleep thanks to this kind of advertising.
And there was Elon saying (like for so many other things) back in '16 or '17 "We can do this now, safer than any person."
"I feel Tesla has been experimenting with people's live here"
you are correct and (competent) people have been pointing this out FOR YEARS!

I'd say if the drivers crashes after getting 19 warnings then he shares some of the blame.
But yeah, people are dumb and trust the tech way too much, even if they know its limited.

"people are dumb" yes but they trust elon too much. Musktards are also part of the people that hate fact checking.
It also seems like the thing doesn't disengage after a warning or 2 but simply keeps going?
