This game doesn't even help to learn play guitar, quite the opposite. Right? Please correct me if I'm wrong (and explain).

My point exactly. The only games I played that were a "simulation of reality" were car racing (because I can't afford the real thing) and maybe the odd poker game because my mates are not really interested.
Now if you could hook up a real guitar to the computer and play this game that would be something I may be interested in...

as a guitarist in real life, does Guitar Hero come close to the real thing? Hell no! BUT like 320 said, it IS actually pretty fun! ...its more for people that just dig the fantasy. What i think you will find hard to believe is that the song is Easier to play on a real guitar than guitar hero in hard mode!. Now they DO have a game called Rocksmith, which you plug your actual guitar in and really learn, so yeah, you should check it out.
