Meanwhile in the Netherlands

Dan, See what you can pull up on that situation that may have slipped through the Youtube vanguard for some main posts.

Had some coverage but disable rich text is not a selectable option at this time so can't share.

Government is shutting down upwards of 30% of farms during a global food shortage and the people are having none of it.

As expected, pretty much total media blackout on the issue while they cook up a spin job for it.

it's a protest against a proposed law that'll render around 30% of the ag industry unable to operate by 2030 or something ...

> Protesters are angry about new environmental law proposals that seek to curtail emissions of nitrogen oxide and ammonia by 50% by 2030. According to estimates by the government itself, some 30% of livestock farmers will have to shut down their businesses.

this law doesn't really have much bearing on the current food crisis elsewhere, Netherlands produces shitloads of food & I don't know that their exports are seriously affected. Farmers are laying seige to the food distribution, blocking roads & distribution centers - that's what's causing the shortage of food in some supermarkets there (not a lack of actual food).

I expect more of this kind of thing to happen this decade as business & politicians clash over environmental policies. Climate change & capitalism are on a collision course.

More like gaslit governmental climate change response is on a collision course with human civilization.

Problem, reaction, solution.
