they're attempting to replace literally the best troop transport/multi roll/support vtol system in the world.

i did make a mistake. its actually only the us army thats getting them. navy and the airforce aren't going to be using them
the ospreys were made to fill a niche of fast vtols and ended up replacing sea kings(chinooks). this ones been in the works with the militaries input for a decade as a multi role purpose. as good as the black hawks are, they need to be replaced. i'm thinking that you probably get to a point where your technically having to produce inferior products to maintain them since you cant introduce anything new without rigorous testing and a decade of implemation. just swapping out washers for stronger and lighter materials requires tons of research and testing. its still another 6 or 7 years till they get them, so they could back out
these can fly twice as fast, twice as far, carry twice the amount of people and can carry 1.4 times the weight. no guns mentions yet

Seaking has already been replaced in most of nato...... and to compare it to the chinook is fucking crazy!..... Chinook will out live us all. Think your confusing choppers to the utmost! Chinook can lift 4 sea kings iirc or 55 souls!

everything else is factual. sea knights were replaced by ospreys, from sea knights came chinooks. thats why i put in brackets

Actually it is..... compare it to the uh-60...... blackhawk crashed every day since 79... ospreay had 2 major losses in a row...... obervation bias.
