This isn't what happens, this is what happened once. I personally know of a handful of people who have had their dogs killed or seriously injured by wolves. I don't know a single person that has had a pet have a close encounter with a wolf that didn't end in an attack. Sure its neat and people can feel all cuddly about wolves, but they are a predator with strong instincts. Risky move letting your dog get close to the wolf.
