Weirdos. It's hard no doubt, so much time. It's boredom and what that does to you that hurts the most. But if you're doing this and you're a normal person, you definitevely start to come up with ways to entertain yourself. You can exercise, you can imagine shit, just pass the time.
After 30minutes it's weird to be in complete darkness? Have you never shut your eyes before? Bah.
This seemed like some extreme shit, not normal behavior from normal people at all.

I haven't looked into it but seems reasonable to assume they might have agreed to specific terms as part of the experiment such as no exercising or no singing since the goal was sensory deprivation

Doubtful. You are stuck in a pitch black room and you can't move? Speak? Think? Nah.
Still, be reasonable, would you go mental after 10minutes? A few hours maybe, but not right away. That lady seemed like she was already a bit troubled going in, suffering from ansiety and other such issues.

Some spiritualists do these excercises on purpose, up to a week of isolation. You may eat, sleep 8 hours a night, Wash, bathroom, but that's it. The rest of the time is spent in meditation and contemplation.

48 hours in a sensory deprivation tank would be a hell of a ride
