Literally ALL car manufacturers void the warranty when the car is used on a track.
"Redlining" as such shouldn't be an issue to an engine, hyundai needs to specify what they mean: how many times is permissible and what duration they would class excessive.
Hardly any engine failure comes without warning during normal use and of course damage can be done at one point but resulting failure may occur much later. If he really is training to be a car mechanic he should know that.
